What We Do

President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) service delivery partners are leading the transition to Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) Option B+ and have also successfully implemented a provider-initiated counseling and testing program that is being adopted by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

CDC provides extensive assistance to the MOH in opening and operationalizing the National Public Health Laboratory and National Blood Transfusion Center through CD4 services; implementing laboratory quality assurance and accreditation programs; supporting national HIV surveillance systems; and strengthening data collection, quality, and use.
