This page provides data about youth dietary and physical activity behaviors and about school policies and practices to encourage healthy eating, and physical activity, and prevent obesity. These data are collected through surveillance systems administered by CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health.

Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System

The Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) monitors health-risk behaviors among adolescents and young adults.

Did not eat for 24 or more hours to lose weight or keep from gaining weight
Took diet pills, powders or liquids to lose weight or to keep from gaining weight
Vomited or took laxatives to lose weight or to keep from gaining weight
