CDC Healthy Schools uses surveillance systems administered by the Division of Adolescent and School Health to gather information and assess health behaviors and attitudes in schools. This page provides data and research on youth dietary and physical activity behaviors and about school policies and practices encouraging healthy eating, physical activity, and obesity prevention.

Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS)

Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) monitors health-risk behaviors among adolescents and young adults at the national, state, territorial, tribal, and local levels. Search here for data on dietary behaviors, weight, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol use, and other health topics.
