Safeguard 8. Evaluate the BMI measurement program by assessing the process, intended outcomes, and unintended consequences of the program.
Data can be collected on concerns about the program, such as stigmatization, cost, parental responses, and displacement of other health–related initiatives. Schools can use the evaluation results to guide improvements to their program. The results can be shared with key stakeholders, parents, the community, school administrators, and policy makers in order to inform their decisions about school-based BMI measurement.
