National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA)

The National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) is a partnership program to stimulate innovative research and improved workplace practices. Unveiled in 1996, NORA has become a research framework for NIOSH and the nation.


FY 2020 NORA Highlights Report

NORA council leaders and members showed incredible dedication and ingenuity in carrying out the NORA mission in 2020. A new report, National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Councils: FY 2020 Highlights pdf icon[PDF – 1 MB], showcases the work of the 17 NORA sector and cross-sector councils from October 2019 – September 2020.

New Traumatic Injury Prevention Communication Resources

The NORA Traumatic Injury Prevention (TIP) Council developed a slide deck to introduce students, graduate and undergraduate and across different disciplines, to NORA and the TIP research agenda. The TIP Council also developed posters for food service and healthcare workers to help them check the tread wear on their slip resistant shoes with a simple visual aid – a AA battery. The posters are also available in Spanish.
