Request for International Influenza Molecular Quality Assessment Panel

CDC’s Influenza Division is offering a CDC Influenza Molecular Quality Assessment Panel to Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO) in 2019. This panel consists of 10 mock human specimens requiring identification of types A and B, and characterization of subtype and/or genotype to evaluate the performance of the CDC Human Influenza Virus Real-Time RT-PCR Panels for Influenza A/B typing (FluRUO-01) Influenza A subtyping (FluRUO-09), Influenza B Lineage Genotyping (FluRUO-05 & FluRUO-11), Influenza A/H7 (Eurasian Lineage) subtyping (FluRUO-07) and Influenza A/H5 subtyping (FluRUO-08). The purpose of this exercise is to assist CDC and PAHO/ERMO in understanding the performance of the CDC Flu rRT-PCR Panel reagents internationally, and to identify any PCR testing issues that can be addressed in future trainings and workshops. Although participation in this exercise is encouraged, it is strictly voluntary.

PAHO/EMRO countries are encouraged to participate and should submit the enrollment information by April 15th, 2019.
