The David J. Sencer CDC Museum will re-open with new visitation protocols on January 2nd, 2026. All visitors must make advanced reservations. Walk-in visits are no longer permitted.
The following information is required while making reservations:
- Visitors to provide first, middle, and last name
Visitors 18 and over will also need to submit:
- Date of birth
- Citizenship (Select U.S. or non-U.S. citizen)
- Government-issued valid (not expired) REAL ID number or passport number
Bring confirmation email(s) for museum visit.

Group Size: 10-50 (not including chaperones for groups with students under age 18)
What to Expect
The self-guided visit explores the exhibitions at the group’s own pace. Self-guided visits can explore the Global Symphony, the current temporary ehxibition and The Story of CDC exhibition. Groups can decide which type of self-guided visit is best for them below.
Self-guided visit options
- Completely self-guided: The group will arrive and explore the museum completely independently. No museum staff will be present.
- Self-guided with introduction: The group will be greeted by a museum host and given an orientation of the museum before starting independent exploration.
- Self-guided with scavenger hunt: The group will be greeted by a museum host, given an orientation of the museum as well as a scavenger hunt to complete while independently exploring.
How to
- Book your tour reservation. The reservation is confirmed by e-mail.
- Email completed “List of Attendees” form to museumtours@cdc.gov at least seven days prior to tour date. This list is required.
