During 2022, the rate of reported hepatitis A in the United States was 0.7 per 100,000 population, a 59% decrease from the rate reported during 2021. The states with the highest rate of reported hepatitis A cases were Mississippi and Maine (4.6 cases per 100,000 population), whereas Florida reported the largest number of cases (n = 319). The states with the highest rates of reported hepatitis A cases during 2022 were primarily those affected by outbreaks of hepatitis A associated with person-to-person transmission.
