Active People, Healthy Nation is a national initiative by CDC and its partners. Our goal is to save lives and protect health by helping 25 million Americans become more physically active.
Why Walk? Why Not!
The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity, or an equivalent combination each week.
Step it Up! The Surgeon General’s Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities
The goal is to increase walking by working together to increase access to safe and convenient places to walk and wheelchair roll and to create a culture that supports walking for all Americans.
