SYSTEMATIC REVIEW — Volume 23 — October 29, 2026
PEER REVIEWED
PRISMA flow diagram illustrating identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion of studies in the integrative review. In total, 320 records were identified from 5 databases: PubMed (n = 21), CINAHL (n = 5), Web of Science (n = 115), EMBASE (n = 100), and ScienceDirect (n = 79). Duplicate records (n = 24) were removed before screening, leaving 296 records to be screened. Of the screened records, 227 were excluded because of being non–US-based or being about non-Hispanic/non-Latino adults. After this exclusion, 69 reports were sought for retrieval and were assessed for eligibility. Of these, 32 reports were excluded because of irrelevancy, leaving 37 sources in the review.
