Call for Papers: Challenges and Solutions for Veterans Living With Chronic Conditions

Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) invites researchers, evaluators, health care professionals, and advocates to submit manuscripts for an upcoming collection focused on veterans living with chronic conditions. This collection aims to highlight the unique health challenges faced by veterans, including the prevalence, management, and impact of chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, post-traumatic stress disorder, cardiovascular disease, mental health conditions, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Veteran perspectives: patient experience, self-management, and peer support
• Technological solutions and telehealth approaches in veteran care

• Innovative care models and interventions for chronic conditions among veterans
• Mental conditions and potential impact on disease management
• Strategies for prevention and early detection of chronic diseases within veteran populations
• Integration of behavioral health and primary care for comprehensive chronic disease management
• Effectiveness of community-based programs and partnerships in supporting veterans with chronic conditions

Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts should be submitted to PCD on or before April 16, 2027. Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed and, if accepted, published on a rolling basis. Once all accepted manuscripts have been published, they will be compiled into a PDF collection accessible on the PCD website. Manuscripts must adhere to PCD’s Types of Articles instructions and will undergo the journal’s standard review processes.
