Plant-Based Medically Tailored Groceries From a Food Pantry and Adult Cardiometabolic Outcomes

PEER REVIEWED

From December 20, 2019, through April 1, 2025, 380 individuals received food packages from the Revere Food Pantry. Of these, 198 individuals received ≥26 food packages. Of these, 111 individuals were excluded from the study: 8 had no medical record number, 6 had no EHR data; 87 were aged <18 years, and 10 women were pregnant. Eighty-seven adults received ≥26 food packages and had EHR data. Nineteen adults were then excluded because they had no data on outcomes at baseline or follow-up. The final analytic sample consisted of 68 adults with ≥1 baseline and ≥1 follow-up outcome: 65 had data on systolic and diastolic blood pressure; 44 had data on HbA1c; 62 had data on weight and BMI.
