Sit-to-Stand Performance, Moderate-to-Vigorous Physical Activity, and Health-Related Quality of Life in Knee Osteoarthritis: A Prospective Mediation Analysis
ORIGINAL RESEARCH — Volume 23 — April 23, 2026
PEER REVIEWED
Figure. Path diagram of a serial mediation model in which greater KOA pain predicts worse STS performance and lower MVPA, and lower MVPA predicts worse HR-QoL. The STS to physical activity path was not significant. The indirect effect was significant, but the direct effect of pain on HR-QoL also remained significant, indicating partial mediation.
