Submission Due Date: Monday, March 30, 2026
There has been tremendous discussion around the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) in public health, medicine, and beyond. PCD is interested in addressing this topic in areas such as
- Novel opportunities to address modern health care needs using AI.
- Disease surveillance and early detection (eg, AI algorithms that analyze data from sources such as electronic health records, social media, and search engines to identify signals of potential epidemics).
- Behavioral interventions and health promotion (eg, AI-driven systems that analyze individual behavior patterns to deliver personalized health recommendations or conceptualize population approaches to improve health).
- Epidemic modeling and forecasting (eg, AI models that simulate the spread of infectious or chronic disease, AI models that can be useful to policymakers and public health experts to implement time-critical interventions and emergency responses).
- Health care delivery (eg, AI technologies and their use in identifying patient care needs, reducing administrative costs, and improving clinical health outcomes).
- AI use by public health agencies and organizations (eg, AI use by local and state health departments to determine community-centered responses to address persistent public health issues, identify tailored partnerships, and improve population health).
