The rates of reported cases of acute hepatitis B are consistently higher among males than among females during 2005–2020. During 2011–2019, rates have remained relatively stable, ranging from 1.1 to 1.3 cases per 100,000 among males and from 0.6 to 0.8 cases per 100,000 among females. Compared to 2019, in 2020 rates declined by 38% among males to 0.8 cases per 100,000 population among, and by 29% among females to 0.5 cases per 100,000 population.
