The rates of reported acute hepatitis B are higher among males than among females. Since 2011, rates have remained relatively stable, ranging from 1.1 to 1.3 cases per 100,000 among males and from 0.6 to 0.8 cases per 100,000 among females. This represents a decade of stable rates after a decrease from 2004 rates of 2.7 per 100,000 among males and 1.5 cases per 100,000 among females.
