† Reported confirmed cases. For the case definition, see Acute Hepatitis A.

During 2020, rates of hepatitis A ranged from a low of 0.4 cases per 100,000 population among Asian/Pacific Islander persons to a high of 3.9 cases per 100,000 population among non-Hispanic White persons. While rates decreased among all racial/ethnicity categories during 2020, the rate among American Indian/Alaska Native persons in 2020 (2.0 cases per 100,000 population) remained similar to the 2019 rate (2.2 cases per 100,000 population). Compared with the preoutbreak period of 2015, the rates for reported hepatitis A increased most dramatically among non-Hispanic White persons, with a rate in 2020 that was 13 times the corresponding rate during 2015.
