During 2019, rates of acute hepatitis C ranged from a low of 0.2 cases per 100,000 population among Asian/Pacific Islander persons to a high of 3.6 cases per 100,000 population among American Indian/Alaska Natives persons. However, the relatively smaller number of cases reported among these race/ethnicity categories can result in wider fluctuations in annual rates. Compared with 2010, in 2019 rates were substantially higher among all racial/ethnicity categories; the most notable relative increases occurred among non-Hispanic Black persons and Hispanic persons.
