Sex-Specific Association of Blood Pressure Categories With All-Cause Mortality: The Rural Chinese Cohort Study

PEER REVIEWED

The baseline number of participants was 20,194. Over the 5.95-year follow-up period, 16,155 of them survived, 1,110 died, and 2,929 did not respond. Of the 17,265 combined survivors and decedents, 3,505 were excluded either because they used antihypertension medication or because data for them were incomplete for systolic blood pressure or diastolic blood pressure at baseline. This left a final cohort of 13,760.
