Cost-Effectiveness of Community-Based Tobacco Dependence Treatment Interventions: Initial Findings of a Systematic Review

PEER REVIEWED

Records were identified through database searching (n = 3,421). Additional records were identified through other sources (n = 59); after duplicates were removed, 2,487 records remained; the abstracts of those 2,487 records were screened and 2,419 records were excluded. The remaining 68 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility and 59 were excluded for these reasons: no economic evaluation (n = 47), not a controlled trial (n= 6), not community-based (n = 3), or international (n = 3). After this process, 9 studies were included in the qualitative synthesis.
