Interventions Promoting Colorectal Cancer Screening Among Latino Men: A Systematic Review

PEER REVIEWED

A flowchart describes the steps in selection of articles for review. A total of 1,146 articles were identified for review, 974 through electronic database searches and 172 through other sources. Of these, 1,047 were excluded on the basis of title and abstract review, leaving 99 articles, which were subjected to full-text review. Of these, 55 were excluded for the following reasons: 11 had no Latino participants, 4 had no male participants, 12 provided no race/ethnicity data, 12 did not describe a randomized controlled trial, 5 did not have screening as the outcome, 6 were related to an article already included, 2 did not meet quality review criteria, and 3 described trials conducted outside the United States. Of the 44 remaining articles, 7 of these were selected for final analysis.
