2016 Revised Weights

Updated October 23, 2017: The Division of Health Interview Statistics has released a revised set of sampling weights for the 2016 National Health Interview Survey public-use data files. Links to the revised weights for each data file except the paradata file are provided below. These are being released as CSV (Comma-Separated Values) text files and contain only the revised weights and the identifiers needed for merging. However, the identifiers require a format conversion prior to merging with the original 2016 data files. SAS programs to do that conversion and an instruction sheet for Stata users are also available via the links below.

Please delete the weight from your original file and import and merge the revised weight into your working data set. General instructions on loading CSV files into your computing environment are provided in the Readme document on the 2016 Data Release page.  All of the 2016 data files will be updated at a later date to reflect the inclusion of their corresponding revised weight.
