$12.4M in Grants Awarded to Communities for Youth Substance Use Prevention

On August 18, 2022, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (CDC NCIPC) announced $12.4M in grants to 99 new Drug-Free Community Coalitions to prevent and reduce substance use in youth (individuals 18 years of age or younger). In FY 22, a total of 745 community coalitions in all 50 states received over $93 million in grant funding through the Drug-Free Communities Support Program.

$13.25M in Grants Awarded to Communities for Youth Substance Use Prevention

On September 21, 2021, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (CDC NCIPC) announced $13.25M in grants to 52 new and 54 competing continuations Drug-Free Community Coalitions to prevent and reduce substance use in youth (individuals 18 years of age or younger).

$3.25M in Grants Awarded to Communities for Youth Substance Use Prevention

On June 30, 2021, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (CDC NCIPC) announced $3.25M in grant funding awarded under the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) program to supplement funding of current or former Drug-Free Communities (DFC) coalitions.

The purpose of the CARA Local Drug Crises program is to prevent and reduce the use of opioids or methamphetamines and the misuse of prescription drugs among youth aged 12-18 in communities throughout the United States.
