“Health Effects of 9/11” Exhibition Now on View at NYU Langone Health Hospital

Health Effects of 9/11 exhibit at the NYU Langone Health Hospital

In commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, the NYU Langone Health Hospital is hosting the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program’s “Health Effects of 9/11” Travelling Exhibit at its Smilow Lower Lobby.

The exhibition, on view from September 8 through September 14, offers visitors an opportunity to learn about 9/11’s ongoing health consequences through moving visuals and firsthand stories of healing and resilience.

The traveling exhibition features:

  • 9/11 responder and survivor stories, images, and experiences,
  • information on 9/11 exposures and the emergence of World Trade Center-related health conditions,
  • the events and advocacy that established the World Trade Center Health Program,
  • research achievements that have led to improvements in medical treatment and knowledge,
  • a video link of Program member testimonials, illustrations, and compelling photographs.

How to View the Exhibition at NYU Langone Health Hospital

The Smilow Lower Lobby is accessible during normal hospital hours. Enter through the main hospital entrance. You’ll then pass the security checkpoint and metal detectors (weapons must be declared and will be stored in a locker by the Security Supervisor), state that you are there to see the exhibition, and get a sticker visitor pass to be allowed on the premises. Follow the yellow pathway to the end of the hall towards Smilow Elevators. You may take the stairs to the Lower Lobby or take the elevator down to the Ground Floor.
