TB is Still Here
March 23, 2023 – New CDC Data Show U.S. Cases Increased Again in 2022
Preliminary TB data show that the number of U.S. TB disease cases increased by 5% in 2022 to 8,300 cases, but did not return to pre-pandemic levels. The data signal a rebound in cases following the pandemic, and show considerable increases among some groups, including children aged 4 and under, people who are incarcerated, and people from some racial and ethnic groups. CDC is calling on healthcare providers and communities disproportionately affected by TB to Test. Treat TB.
