- Asthma self-management education indicators – Data represent the percentage of adults and children with current asthma who indicated ever receiving asthma patient education. These indicators are measured by responding “yes” to the following questions: Has a doctor or other health professional ever taught you:
- How to recognize early signs and symptoms on an asthma episode?
- What to do during an asthma episode or attack?
- How to use a peak flow meter?
- Has a doctor or other health professional ever given you an asthma management plan?
- Have you ever taken a course on how to manage your asthma?
