Natural family planning

NOTE: In “Natural family planning or safe period by temperature or cervical mucus test,” to prevent pregnancy a woman checks her temperature or the consistency of her cervical mucus to determine her fertile days and abstains from intercourse on those fertile days. Also known as “symptom-thermal method.”

    • Percentage of women who have ever used natural family planning (among women who have ever had sexual intercourse): 3.3% (0.28)
    • Percentage of all women currently using natural family planning: 0.2% (0.05)
