Data Sources
Data for Healthy People 2030 (HP2030) come from more than 80 data systems. Most are federal, including many HHS agencies (including NCHS, CDC, AHRQ, HRSA, NIH, FDA, and SAMHSA) as well as non-HHS agencies (including USDA; EPA; the Departments of Justice, Labor, Education, and Transportation; and the US Census Bureau).
HP2030 data sources went through a selection process and generally met rigorous criteria including:
- Nationally representative
- Publicly available
- Known population coverage, response rates, and documentation completeness
These criteria ensure transparency of the initiative and allow for replication of findings.
