Important update

On June 21, all U.S. citizens potentially exposed to hantavirus aboard the M/V Hondius cruise ship finished their 42-day monitoring period. No cases of hantavirus disease occurred in the United States as a result of this outbreak.

CDC is responding to a deadly outbreak of Andes virus, a type of hantavirus, among passengers and crew of a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
