IVF Success Estimator

CDC gathers data from every fertility clinic in the United States each year as part of the National Assisted Reproductive Technology Surveillance System. This allows CDC to monitor success rates of some infertility treatments.

Using the information that you enter below, this tool allows you to estimate your chance of having a live birth using in vitro fertilization (IVF)—the most common type of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). This information is calculated based on the experiences of women and couples with similar characteristics. However, this tool does have some limitations. The estimates are based on available data which may not be representative of your specific experience. For example, this tool can generate estimates only for people ranging from age 20 to 50 years. If you are younger than 20 or older than 50 and attempt to enter your true age, the tool will be unable to provide an estimate and you will be directed to enter a value between 20 and 50. You may choose to enter the value that is closest to your true age for an estimation. Available data to generate estimates are similarly limited to specific ranges for height and weight. Additionally, this IVF success estimator does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please speak with your doctor about your specific treatment plan and potential for success.
