Some Older Adults More Than Three Times as Likely to Lose All of Their Teeth

Some older adults were more than three times as likely to lose all of their teeth.

More than 1 in 3 adults aged 65 or older who were:

  • low-income
  • had less than a high school education
  • currently smoking cigarettes

lost all of their teeth

  • currently smoking cigarettes 43% compared to never smoked cigarettes 12%

They were more than 3x as likely to lose all of their teeth as the comparison groups.
