About the Message Evaluation and Testing Service
The CDC Message Evaluation and Testing Service (METS) is a message validation service to assist jurisdictions in preparing and sending national notifiable disease HL7 case notification messages.
As jurisdictions implement HL7 message mapping guides (MMGs), they should use METS to evaluate the test messages they develop against required messaging, vocabulary, and programmatic standards before they are sent to the Message Validation, Processing, and Provisioning System (MVPS). METS ensures that CDC receives high-quality messages for processing and provisioning to CDC programs.
METS is publicly available and may be accessed at https://mets.cdc.gov.
