New Linked Data From the Data Linkage Program: Veterans Health

The NCHS Data Linkage Program joins data from multiple sources to help answer complex questions that examine factors associated with disability, chronic disease, health care use, illness, and death.  The program’s newest data files link NCHS survey  data to administrative records from the Department of Veterans Affairs, which contain information on veteran service records and benefit program use. This webinar will present overview of the NCHS Data Linkage Program, including how to access data files, highlight the newest data resource, and discuss how these new linked data can help answer critical health policy questions about the health of U.S. veterans.

An Overview of the NCHS Data Linkage Program: Leveraging the nation’s health data for evidence-based decision making

NCHS is actively working to expand the utility of its national health survey data by linking information collected in health surveys with other health related sources of data, including Medicare & Medicaid data, death certificates, and information on receipt of federal housing assistance.  This webinar includes a discussion of the Data Linkage Program including the data sources that have been linked and examples of how these linked data can help answer critical health policy questions.  The webinar also highlights the program’s data modernization initiatives as a part of the broader effort to expand current and relevant data to inform evidence-based decisions.
