National Healthy Brain Initiative Recipients
CDC is pleased to announce the National Healthy Brain Initiative award recipients (CDC-RFA-DP20-2003). The National Healthy Brain Initiative’s Component A award supports a recipient with national scope and reach within states to assist with the implementation and evaluation of the Healthy Brain Initiative’s Road Map Series and with the development of future Road Maps. The National Healthy Brain Initiative’s Component B recipients will support populations with a high burden of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), to develop and implement public health strategies guided by the Healthy Brain Initiative Road Map Series, Healthy Brain Initiative State and Local Public Health Partnerships to Address Dementia: The 2018-2023 Road Map and the Road Map for Indian Country.
Anticipated activities include creating informational resources for the public, engaging state and local partners to adopt Road Map action items, developing training materials for current and future professionals about ADRD, and disseminating effective messages related to brain health. National Healthy Brain Initiative activities are expected to promote brain health, address cognitive impairment including ADRD, and support the needs of caregivers (unpaid persons providing care or assistance to someone with ADRD).
