Observances and Toolkits

Vaccine-related health observances each year give CDC and partners opportunities to highlight the importance of protection from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities.

National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) takes place in April each year. Visit CDC’s NIIW page to view planning, educational, and promotional resources for observing NIIW in your community.

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is observed in August each year. CDC has developed toolkits to help partners communicate about vaccines for various audiences.

National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) is a national awareness week focused on highlighting the importance of influenza vaccination. NIVW for the 2021-2022 flu season will be December 5-11, 2021.
