Surgeon General's Listening Session on Oral Health

Overview

On July 27, 2018, the Federal Registerexternal icon published a notice in which the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of the Surgeon General, the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, and the U.S. Public Health Service Oral Health Coordinating Committee announced the commission of a Surgeon General’s Report presenting prominent issues affecting oral health. The report will document progress in oral health in the twenty years since the 2000 Surgeon General’s Report on Oral Health, identify existing knowledge gaps, and articulate a vision for the future.

To advance this mission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Oral Health, in collaboration with the Office of the Surgeon General and the Oral Health Coordinating Committee, will be convening a Surgeon General’s Listening Session on Oral Health in Arlington, VA. This 1½ day listening session will be held on the afternoon of Monday, November 26th and all day Tuesday, November 27th to identify and discuss significant oral health-related topics which will inform the upcoming Surgeon General’s Report on Oral Health.

Attendance for this meeting is by invitation only.
