The beginner-friendly, interactive web training Rapid Recognition and Response to New World Screwworm is designed to improve healthcare providers' and public health professionals' ability to rapidly recognize, manage, and report suspected New World screwworm cases.

Objectives

1. Identify key signs and symptoms of New World screwworm (NWS) infestation in humans as opposed to other causes of wound myiasis.
2. Describe appropriate clinical management for patients with NWS.
3. Identify the correct way to handle NWS larvae, including disposal.
4. Describe reporting procedures for NWS.
5. Identify the roles of interprofessional team members in responding to suspected NWS cases.
