How I Look Like

If you’ve spent time on social media (off the clock, of course), you might have come across this phrase: “how I look like.” An app even exists called “How I Look Like When I Grow Up.”

So, what’s the problem here? Redundancy, that’s what.

One of the definitions of the word “how” is “in what state or condition.” In other words, “how” can help express what something is like. Therefore, when we’re describing the state or condition of something, we can either use “how” by itself or a combination of “what” and “like.”
