HIV and Women: HIV Incidence

HIV incidence is one of the six Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. indicators. HIV incidence refers to the estimated number of new HIV infections in a given year.

EHE goal: decrease the estimated number of new HIV infections to 9.000 by 2025 and 3,000 by 2030.
Among new HIV infections in the US in 2019, 18 percent were among women.
