CMS Expands Multi-Language Flu Prevention Resources
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) partnered with federal, state of California, and local stakeholders in an effort to improve access to annual flu vaccinations among low-income Medicare beneficiaries. Many people 65 years of age and older, individuals with disabilities, and non-English speaking beneficiaries face barriers to preventive health, and information about and access to flu vaccinations is just one of these challenges.
In an effort to address these barriers we are asking for your help! CMS launched a multifaceted effort to raise awareness, promote education, and complement existing flu vaccination efforts you are already doing.
As part of the campaign, CMS assembled a menu of flu vaccination materials that are beneficiary, provider, advocacy-facing – we want to particularly highlight a postcard advertisement translated into 11 languages including Arabic [477 KB, 1 page], Armenian [425 KB, 1 page], Cambodian [151 KB, 1 page], Chinese (simplified) [237 KB, 1 page], Farsi [161 KB, 1 page], Hmong [135 KB, 1 page], Korean [159 KB, 1 page], Russian [135 KB, 1 page], Spanish [134 KB, 1 page], Tagalog [133 KB, 1 page], and Vietnamese [149 KB, 1 page]. View all the materials by visiting http://calduals.org/learn-more-resources/flu-vaccine-campaign/.
Consider including information about the importance of an annual flu vaccination in your next newsletter, blog or tweet.
CMS want to hear from you! If you have suggestion to improve their list of materials, or would like to share best practices that have worked well in your clinic, email them to share your suggestions and stories here.
