Legal Status of EPT in Minnesota

I. Statutes/regs on health care providers’ authority to prescribe for STDs to a patient’s partner(s) w/out prior evaluation (Explanation) plus sign A RN, physician assistant, or medical student may implement protocol that does not reference a specific patient and results in a prescription of a legend drug that has been predetermined and delegated by a licensed practitioner, when (1) patient’s condition falls within the protocol and (2) the protocol specifies the circumstances under which the drug is to be prescribed or administered.
