Telebriefing on U.S. Adult Vaccination Rates
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will host a telephone-only media briefing Tuesday, January 29, to provide up-to-date figures on the number of adults in the U.S. who receive recommended vaccines other than the influenza vaccine.
There are nearly a dozen vaccines recommended for people age 19 and older—in addition to influenza—to protect adults from vaccine-preventable diseases including pneumococcal disease, whooping cough, and shingles.
Howard Koh, M.D., Assistant Secretary for Health, Department of Health and Human Services Carolyn Bridges, M.D., Associate Director for Adult Immunization, Immunization Services Division, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases
