The Visual Panel allows manipulation of the look of the visualization for Sparklines, Data Bites, Linear Gauges, and Waffle Charts.

Where to Use

Visualization Types

This panel displays the fields listed below for Data Bite, Linear Gauge, Sparkline, and Waffle Charts.

Common Fields

Data Point / Bite Font Size: Not available for Sparklines. Set the size for the text on the Waffle, Gauge, or Bite data.

(Overall) Font Size: Set the size for the text on the rest of the visualization.

(Header) Theme: Choose the color for the header and other aspects of the visualization.

Show / Display Border: Display a solid border around the visualization.

Use Border Color Theme: When the show / display border selection is active, check to match the border color to the selected (Header) Theme.

Use Accent Style: Display a solid, colored bar along the left side of the visualization.

Use Theme Background: Change the background color to a lighter shade of the selected theme.

Hide Background Color: Remove the default white background so the page background shows.

Waffle Chart Specific Fields

Shape: Choose between circle, square, and person shapes to make up the array.

Width: Number of pixels wide for each shape.

Spacer: Number of pixels between each shape.

Layout: Choose to set the array to the left of the message or centered above it.

Sparkline Specific Fields

Use Selected Palette in Reverse Order: Reverses the ordering of the color palette. For example, on a palette that uses dark colors for high numbers, the setting applies dark colors to low numbers.

Sequential Palettes: The choices here use colors in a light-to-dark or dark-to-light order to show comparative relationship with the data.

Non-Sequential Palettes: The choices here use complementary colors that do not show a specific relationship. These palettes are best used for categorical data.

No Data Message: Customize the text that displays when a filter selection has no data available.

TP5 Style Data Bite & Markup Include

Data-Driven Colors: Available for TP5 Data Bite and TP5 Markup Include. Change the background color based on the first matching row for the selected data column. Text color adjusts automatically for contrast.

Color Column: Choose the column whose values control the background color.

Value-to-Color Mapping: Assign a color to each source value from the selected color column.

Add Color Mapping: Add a custom source value and assign it a color.
