Regions Panel

The Regions panel will allow you to set a highlighted area of your chart to call out specific dates or categories.

Where to Use

Visualization Types

This panel displays for all chart types except Sparklines.

Fields

Add Region: Click the button to add a region to your chart.

  • Region Label: Label the region for clarity.
  • Text Color: Choose the text color from hex values. Keep in mind Section 508 contrast recommendations of 4.5:1.
  • Background: Choose the background color from hex values. Keep in mind Section 508 contrast recommendations of 4.5:1.
  • Minimum Region Type: Fixed or Previous Days. Selecting Previous Days will keep the region in the same location from the right side of the chart when it is updated. This works well with charts that are automatically updating from data sources such as a MUST file or API.
  • From Value / Previous Number of Days: Type in either the value or number of days to set the minimum for the region.
  • Maximum Region Type: Fixed or Last Date.
  • To Value: Type in the value to set the maximum for the region.

Notice

Swap the From and To Values if you select the option to show dates newest to oldest in the Date/Category Axis panel. The region won't display if the order of the dates do not match.
