Cambodia
As part of a collaborative research agreement with Harvard University, the International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) provided input into a war related mental health and trauma survey in Cambodia.

East Timor
The International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) acted as the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) health coordinators during hostilities in East Timor.

Laos
International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) staff assisted the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in designing and analyzing national nutrition data collection and analysis procedures.

Mongolia
International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) staff led a CDC team in conducting a national famine assessment during 2001.

Nepal
The International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) fielded several missions to the refugee camps in southern Nepal. Recent missions included conducting a micronutrient malnutrition survey in these camps. The branch also took part in monitoring and evaluation of land mine risk education in Nepal.

Sri Lanka
International Emergency and Refugee Health BANCH (IERHB), working with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Health and UNICEF Sri Lanka, conducted a survey to assess vaccination coverage rates among children and health care access, the prevalence of mortality, disability and mental health conditions, and prevalence of sexual violence among female children and youth. It was the first study of its kind in northern Sri Lanka sine the government defeated the rebel forces in that region.

Vietnam
As part of the CDC and Landmine Survivors Network’s (LSN) cooperative agreement, the International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) supports landmine survivor peer support programs in Vietnam.
