Bosnia and Herzegovina
The International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) played a major role in CDC's response to the complex emergency in Bosnia. This response included providing health officers to the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance for both assessments and the Disaster Assistance Response Teams. As part of the CDC and Landmine Survivors Network’s (LSN) cooperative agreement, IERHB supports LSN’s landmine survivors peer support network.

Kosovo
International Emergency and Refugee Health Branch (IERHB) staff played a major role in the international community's response to the war in Kosovo. The branch provided health coordinators to the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Macedonia. We assisted nongovernmental organizations in providing immunization services to refugees. Our staff conducted a province-wide mental health and trauma survey, and a province-wide mortality survey.
