World TB Day Fair, Tucson

TB awareness 4 mile fun run and 2 mile walk, free health screenings, food drive to support the community food bank, garden demonstration, meet with and obtain information from a variety of local wellness and resource providers, obtain outdoor safety tips from local first responders, and obtain training and gear tips from local sport shops. Latent TB Videos for Healthcare Providers: How do I talk to patients about latent TB?

Finding and treating individuals with latent TB infection (LTBI) is critical to preventing TB disease. TB Free California is a partnership among the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), local health departments, and community clinics throughout the state working to increase targeted LTBI testing and treatment. In collaboration with the Curry International TB Center, TB Free California has produced a series of short videos to help healthcare providers counsel their patients about LTBI testing and treatment. UCSF World TB Day Symposium 2019, San Francisco

UCSF will host one segment of the first ever “Pan Global” live streamed World TB Day Symposium, with London, San Francisco, and Hanoi participating in a 24-hour baton passing effort to raise awareness about and share research on TB. The day will include keynote talks from Dr. Richard Pan, California State Senator and chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Dr. C. Robert Horsburgh, Professor of Epidemiology at Boston University, and Dr. Eric Goosby, UN Special Envoy for Tuberculosis.  The live UCSF program will begin at 8:30AM, with live-streaming of the London segment in the auditorium from 7AM.

San Francisco Department of Public Health Educational Booth at Heart of the City Farmers’ Market

On March 27th, the San Francisco TB Prevention and Control Program will host a community outreach booth at the Heart of the City Farmers’ Market at Civic Center and focus on educating the public about risk factors for TB. Aligning with the national theme, SFDPH will also be conducting a social media campaign with the World TB Day theme of “It’s Time…to Know Your Risk for TB”. San Francisco City Hall will join the yearly global initiative, “Light up the World for TB” and be lit red on March 24th, 2019 in observance of World TB Day.”

TB Anywhere is TB Everywhere – It’s Time To End TB, Decatur

The event aims to educate providers, nurses, health practitioners and our community partners who are serving the diverse communities of DeKalb County. The day will start with a “Walk” to increase awareness. After the walk, we will provide an overview of TB in DeKalb County. Have a panel of Medical, and Nurse consultants discussion, to discuss the Board of Health’s TB patient intake, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and contact investigation process, as well as our other services. The Texas Department of State Health Services, in collaboration with the UT Health Science Center at Tyler, presents the third annual World TB Day Conference. The conference welcomes students, physicians, nurses, social services, government organizations, and all community members. We continue our mission of sharing the TB expertise found in East Texas, through a selection of diverse speakers covering care of pediatric and adult TB patients, public health case management, multi-drug resistance, patient sensitivity, and latent tuberculosis infection. Lunch will be provided, and continuing education credits are available for licensed providers.

Lessons from a MDR Survivor: A World Tuberculosis Day Webinar

Featuring Khayr Abdi, a TB survivor who was diagnosed with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR TB), after working in East Africa. He shares his story with healthcare professionals to lessen the physical and psychological side effects of future patients undergoing TB treatment. 2019 TB Survivor Hill Day

March 27, 2019 will be the fourth time that US-based TB survivors meet in Washington, DC to use their voices to raise awareness about TB and advocate for increased funding for CDC’s domestic and global TB funding. It’s Time! End TB in American Samoa

The American Samoa Department of Health’s TB Control Program is celebrating World TB Day by hosting a 1)TB logo competition among Junior & Seniors of all territorial high schools-public and private with prizes (winning design to become the official TB logo) , 2) launch of various screening activities throughout the year (beginning with the annual DOH staff TB screening), 3) hosting a church service as is appropriate that World TB Day falls on a Sunday this year and 4) amplify TB Control using various local media outlets.

World TB Day 2019 Round table at Parliament, Baku
