At a glance
Today’s infectious disease challenges require collaboration and coordination with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners to advance infectious disease prevention and control. Together, NCEZID and its partners are able to accomplish more than any organization or institution can by working alone.
NCEZID Partners
Our diverse programs are supported by a variety of valuable stakeholders and partners including (but not limited to):
- State, tribal, local, and territorial health departments
- Professional organizations
- National medical associations
- Patient safety advocates and organizations
- Businesses
- Academia
- Other federal agencies
- Non-governmental organizations
Our work would not be possible without the collaboration and support of our partners and colleagues.
Partnership in Action
Results-based partnerships are critical to NCEZID's mission to protect people from infectious diseases where they live, where they work and play, when they travel, and where they get care. These collaborations span the globe and have led to innovative and successful prevention, early detection, and response to infectious disease threats.
Building National Wastewater Surveillance
NCEZID and public health, utility, private sector, academic, and federal partners scaled the surveillance system to an estimated 1,500 testing sites across the United States, including in territories and on tribal lands.
Combatting Emerging Infectious Diseases
NCEZID supports national and global surveillance, laboratory, and outbreak response capacity to protect people against hundreds of dangerous viruses, bacteria, and mysterious organisms we have not yet identified.
Building Genomic Sequencing and Analysis Capacity
NCEZID's Advanced Molecular Detection program supports state, local, and academic partners in the innovation and application of pathogen genomics to produce actionable sequence data and improve the health of all Americans.
Protecting Border and Traveler's Health
NCEZID's multi-layered system of public health defenses and partnerships that span agencies, sectors, and nations help mitigate the spread of infectious diseases into and within the United States.
Expanding Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance
NCEZID's antimicrobial resistance laboratory networks support lab testing in health care, the community, and the environment (e.g., water, soil) in the United States and in collaboration with many countries abroad.
