Sascha Chaney

Role at CDC

Sascha Chaney has been serving as the National Center on Birth Defects and Disabilities (NCBDDD), associate director for policy (APD) since August 2015. In this capacity she is responsible for leading the Office of Policy, Partnerships & Strategy (OPPS) for NCBDDD. OPPS manages the NCBDDD’s annual budget formulation, partnership engagement, and policy activities. Ms. Chaney serves as principal advisor on legislative matters and keeps the center informed of legislative and partnership developments that may impact programmatic work.

Previous experience

Prior to joining NCBDDD, she served as the NCEH/ATSDR ADP. Ms. Chaney joined CDC in 2000 as a legislative and policy analyst and has been working on CDC policy activities for more than 24 years.

Education

Ms. Chaney holds a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL.
