Prevalence, control status, and treatment of hypertension among U.S. adults: U.S. adults with hypertension are at 45 percent, which is 108 million people. About 4 in 5 recommended lifestyle changes and prescription medication, about 87 million. About 3 in 4 are have uncontrolled hypertension, about 61 million. About 1 in 3 have untreated hypertension, about 30 million.
